PAINTER Sophia Chioma Azoige

My name is AZOIGE SOPHIA CHIOMA , a Visual Artist specializing in painting. Art has broadened my vision and sense of appreciation for nature. It started as something i did at my free time until every finished piece became a motivation for the next.

My art is inspired by beauty that is seen and unseen and my experiences as a growing child. I am also inspired by the daily activities and stories of other people. I try to share a sense of beauty, calmness and appeal to a broad spectrum of people knowing well that life is a place with different experiences. I like the idea of sharing life stories on my canvas, these stories can be used as motivation for daily living. I am fascinated by the beauties of human existence, with the use of loosely detailed human form and cut- out Fabric.

My works arrest both trained and untrained artistic sensibilities and possess the timeless qualities of balance, strength and originality to endure the harsh scrutiny of the ages.

I am currently studying Art in Ignatius Ajuru University of Education Port Hacourt, Rivers State.
