PAINTER & MIXED MEDIA ARTIST Joshua Rotimi Adeyemi

Joshua Rotimi Adeyemi, 1991 describes himself as a neo-traditional artist. He started his artistic adventure at tender age by drawing, painting and sculpting with local materials found around his environment. That initial foray into art was to form the basis of his lifetime engagement in the field and formal training in Fine and Applied Arts at University of Benin, Nigeria where he obtained his BFA degree specializing in Painting.

Joshua keeps exploring new materials to express his creativity. He was worked with charcoal, fabrics, and leather among other materials, reshaping and re-engineering them in unusual and creative ways that are thought-provoking. Joshua is currently enrolled in the MFA program with a focus on painting at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
