PAINTER & MIXED MEDIA ARTIST Folasade Adebowale

Inspired by artists such as Damola Adepoju, Peju Alatishe, Uchay Joel Chima, Edosa Oguigo, Solomon Omogboye and Segun Adejumo
Folasade “Sade” Adebowale, born in 1991, is a mixed-media artist who resides in her homeland Nigeria. With a strong focus on the significance and power of humanhood in quest for survival, Sade uses newsprint in her art as a literal and metaphorical representation of daily events across time. She hopes that the resulting sense of exploration gives the audience a moment of reflection, and an incentive to stir hope in a world of uncertainties.
Inspired by artists such as Damola Adepoju, Peju Alatishe, Uchay Joel Chima, Edosa Oguigo, Solomon Omogboye and Segun Adejumo, Sade prepared this body of work to look past the cultural and ethnic identity of the African race. In doing so, she investigates the narratives of the individual facial marks: narratives that include , beauty, healing and identity.
Shade has her works in private and public collections.
