PAINTER Duke Asidere

Duke Asidere has remained a frontrunner in creative practice in Nigeria and Africa. He lectured for five years at the Federal Polytechnic Auchi, Edo State from 1990 – 1995.
Duke Asidere was born in Lagos on October 7, 1961. He attended Anglican Primary school, Marine Beach, Apapa from 1968 – 1973. He attended Eko Boy’s High School, Munshin, Lagos from 1973-979. He attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria from 1985 -1998 and graduated with a BA in Fine Arts (First Class) Hons.
He had a second degree in Painting with a specialization in fabric collage for picture-making. This was a two-year research program with a daily grill on practical experiences using offcuts for massive collages. Duke Asidere has remained a frontrunner in creative practice in Nigeria and Africa. He lectured for five years at the Federal Polytechnic Auchi, Edo State from 1990 – 1995. He taught Drawing, Art History, and Compositional Painting. He supervised final projects all through the five years he lectured at The Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo state. His works have been exhibited on different continents. His works have been shown at the New York Art Fair, Miami Art Fair, 154 Art Fair in London. His work is handled by RetroAfrica Nigeria, Tafeta London, and Hourglass Gallery Lagos, Nigeria.
