PAINTER Ben Onuorah
Ben Onuorah is a Fine Artist, Web Designer and Programmer with 15 years of experience, born and live in Lagos and Ota, Ben graduated with ND and HND in Computer science with distinctions from the Lagos State Polytechnic and Lagos City Polytechnic respectively and also graduated with ND in General Art from Yaba College of Technology, Lagos; B.A. in Education/Fine and Applied Art from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Masters in Information Technology from Ladoke Akintola Univeristy of Technology, Ogbomosho and another masters (M.Ed) in Educational Technology from the National Open University of Nigeria.
Ben did his artist residency programme at IICD Center, Abuja and has had both solo and group exhibitions both offline (Gallery) and Online, this includes “Sublime Conversations” 2017 group exhibition at IICD center, Abuja; “Anastasia Arts Exhibition” group Exhibition, organized by RCCG Olive Tree Parish, Banana Island Lagos; “Ota Art Fair, 2018” at Ogun State recreation center, Ota, “Miniature Art Fair Lagos” by Ogirikan Art Gallery, 2019, 2018 and 2019 “October Rain Art Exhibition” by Society of Nigeria Artists (SNA), Lagos State Chapter, “Towards Visual Strength” online solo Art Exhibition, “Scenes and Places” online solo Art Exhibition, “Lines in between the Motives” online solo Art Exhibition via his online art gallery platform www.FineArt.com.ng; among others. His paintings also qualify for one of the best 100 artworks for the Union Bank Art challenge 2017 in Nigeria, and publication at the Ake Festival Art Magazine.
Ben holds the following IT certifications; Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) and Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer (OCPJP) and awards includes; SNA Lagos Stewardship Award 2017 and Lagos State Education Authority, Ikeja Merit Award in Art, 1997. Some of his past IT work experiences include Programming Faculty member at Utiva, Software engineering lecturer at Daleware Institute of Technology, Palmgroove, Lagos, Software engineering consultant at Soft Solutions Ltd, Lagos Island; 360 Business Intelligent, Ikeja; Product Barcode Nigeria Ltd. Ikeja, among others.
Ben lives and works from his home studio at Ota in Ogun State, Nigeria.
